AquaLess

AquaLess is a text pager for Mac OS X. It allows you to browse plain text files and -- more importantly -- text output from Unix command line tools. AquaLess is a Cocoa replacement for the less command, which is constrained to the terminal window. AquaLess opens a separate window for each text, so you can keep working in the terminal while you read.

The current version is 1.6. It is available in binary (ready-to-run) and source (for modification) forms:

This project is hosted by SourceForge. You can use the trackers to submit bug reports, feature requests, and patches. The latest development source is available from the CVS repository. Other resources are listed on the project summary page.

Version 1.6 (June 22, 2008):

• Bug fix for files sent from the "aless" tool being truncated
• Now requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher

Version 1.5 (February 12, 2006):

• Font and text color can be set through the Preferences window
• Built as a Universal Binary
• Now requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or higher

Version 1.4 (December 19, 2003):

• Fixed a memory leak (thanks to Dave Dribin)
• Added a title option to the command line tool
• Fixed command line tool installation to be robust against prebinding and friends

• Added search function; only plain text matches for now

• File loading is now fully incremental and always watches for newly appended data (part one of "tail -f" emulation)
